UPsychology believes in tailoring psychology services to meet the personality and needs of the patient.  Using evidenced based therapies in conjunction with listening to the patient, ensures UPsychology can provide valuable input into assisting patients to thrive.

Our Story

UPsychology was established after many years of working across various sectors both public and private.  The vision for UPsychology is to provide a place of respect, psychological support and guidance for those experiencing mental health and/ or persistent pain and seeking therapy.

UPsychology is passionate about working with the individual to help them find a greater level of competence and contentment within their lives.  Goals of therapy are aligned with assisting the individual to build awareness of their meaningful existence, their place of joy, and their level of achievement within this.

UPsychology values partnerships with varied medical and allied health professionals to ensure a unified approach to treatment planning and therapy management is undertaken

Amy Underwood

Principal Director

For 20 years Amy has provided psychological services for an adult and older adolescent population.  Amy has trained extensively at UQ (BA Psych.S0c)(GradDipPsychPrac Clinical), Bond (PostgradProf Psych), QUT (M.CounsPsych), Sydney Uni (M.Sc.Med(PainMgt).  Amy's career has transitioned from tertiary rehabilitation to longitudinal research studies to management of allied health to psychological therapy.  Throughout her career, Amy has demonstrated compassion, a calm disposition and genuine interest in the person in front of her.
